Approved Fireworks Days & Hours

What is the Be a Good Neighbor Fireworks Education Campaign?
This Be a Good Neighbor fireworks education campaign is designed to help build citizen awareness for fireworks safety and educate you, our community members, about City rules and regulations regarding fireworks.

How Can I be a Good Neighbor this Independence Holiday?
You can Be a Good Neighbor this fireworks season by following these few simple steps when participating in fireworks activities:

Be Legal means observing hours that fireworks are legally allowed to be discharged or detonated within Blue Springs city limits. Hours of fireworks discharge within city limits are

  • July 1-3, 2017 - 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • July 4, 2017 - 10 a.m. to Midnight

The Blue Springs Police Department will exercise increased street patrol and law enforcement measures during these times to make sure residents are complying with the regulations provisioned by the City’s Fireworks Ordinance.

To report fireworks violations, call (816) 228-0151 or Text-A-Tip; text “BSPD plus your message” to Crimes (274637).

Think Safe reminds citizens to use City-approved fireworks only. These fireworks include those sold by 18 licensed nonprofit organizations in Blue Springs only. View the list and locations of these organizations here, or call the Blue Springs Tax Department at (816) 228-0131 to request vendor information.

Play Smart encourages you and your family to have fun, but be safe when discharging or detonating fireworks. Always have an adult present when discharging fireworks. Be sure to avoid discharging fireworks in dry areas, around or near pets and animals, and never carry fireworks in your pocket. If ever burned by fireworks, observe proper first aid care and call  9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.
